Valerio Adami is an Italian artist knows for his Nouvelle Figuration movement. Adami began to incorporate various subjects into his artworks such as modern European history, literature, philosophy, and mythology. Adami is possibly interpreting a Biblical scene, where an angel is reading some type of gospel to a man, who is either in need of spiritual guidance, but is looking the other way, therefore not caring too much about what the angel is saying to him. Adami might be referring to the need for religiousness in the life of any man.
