Dormire Dormire. Original color lithograph, 1988. Edition of 75 signed and numbered impressions on Arches paper.
Valerio Adami is an Italian artist knows for his Nouvelle Figuration movement. Adami began to incorporate various subjects into his artworks such as modern European history, literature, philosophy, and mythology. Common Valerio’s motive is ‘between dream and reality’. You can’t be so sure this man is sleeping or not. Out of the window you can see the night sky and the moon, and his eyes closed; but there is an opened suitcase – which means he didn’t finish his packing and he looks like he is striking a cigarette.
