Description
Herouval. Original watercolor, cca.1980.
Miodrag Dado Đurić was a famous figurative artist from Montenegro. He spent most of his life in France, painting, engraving, drawing, making illustrations, sculptures and digital collages. Dado often said that his artwork is a mixture of everything and it represents the rejection of what is called civilization. He is known for his surreal fantastic creatures and colorful dynamic compositions and the drawing and lines were the basis of his philosophy. Obsessed with the dark penetrations of the living into the dead and opposite, Dado’s fantasy and imagination created a composition beyond the time and space which is a symbol for his disturbed epoch. Sky blue tones made a terrific contrast to the creatures in torment, deformed by agony of pain. Herouval is a small town in France where Dado lived and created most of his life.
