Korčula. Original oil on canvas, 2010.
Stipe Nobilo is a Croatian artist, best known for his colorful Korčula’s landscapes. Genisteaes (plants that grows in the Mediterranean), olives, vineyards, cypresses, fields and waves, the blue of the sea and the sky are the most common and permanent motives in his art. Those motives together with his Arcadian expressive colors are looking for harmony and balance of the environment, but also artist’s being and his soul. This is one of Nobilo’s typical landscapes of the beautiful colorful island Korčula seen from afar, from the coastal land side.
