Lavender. Original color mixed media, unknown year.
Kosa Bokšan was a Serbian painter who lived in Paris. She was painting landscapes and portraits when she finished her studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Belgrade, but when she moved to Paris her art became more abstract and approached to the informal. After that she had two phases – ‘The Paris School’ realism, so-called abstract naturalism and later when she was influenced by the Byzantine tradition, Bokšan transformed mythical symbols into an artistic expression. This is probably from her earlier period, between finishing her studies and moving to Paris. There is no real depiction, we can just perceive flower shapes and colors of lavender on a field.
