Adami began to incorporate various subjects into his artworks such as modern European history, literature, philosophy, and mythology. This print, as the name indicates, impersonates Italian landscape with the queen in his arms. On the right side you can see a small detail – ruins of an ancient temple, which probably symbolizes the Roman empire.
