Description

Diptych: Sanje Ribiča (eng. Fisherman’s dream). Original oil painting on paper, 1993.
Živko Marušić is a Slovenian artist, born in Italy. He is best-known for his figurative paintings, graphics and sculptures. His artworks are products of thoroughly exploring and recreating events from his life and his perception of those events. Human figure is always in the center of his attention and most of his creations feature just one person with his current look in a moment of Marušić’s attention and with his emotions caught on the face at that moment. The figures mostly seem dynamic or in motion, and those from diptych Sanje Ribiča (eng. Fisherman’s dream) look like they are falling down. We can see fear in their faces and poses, so this could be a nightmare.
