Safet Zec is a Bosnian painter and graphic designer, known as one of the major artists of poetic realism. At the beginning of the 90’s he became one of the most important artists of his country, representing Bosnia in many international exhibitions. In his artwork, Zec depicted the building tradition and nature of Bosnia and Herzegovina, especially the old town Sarajevo, as well as the Dalmatian islands of the Croatian coast. We can see his effort to point to the destruction of the lavish heritage of his homeland and urges the preservation of culture and tradition.
