Piero Dorazio was an Italian contemporary artist, well known for his colorful abstract paintings. He was the co-author of the Forma manifesto in 1947 with Pietro Consgra, Achille Perilli, Carla Accardi and Giulio Turcato. The Forma manifesto, inspired by Futurism and expressing leftist political views and opposing to the Socialist Realism ideas, has strongly affected his abstract art and served as a guideline for the rest of his career. Dorazio’s experimental art approach took him from Cubism to Futurism, always with bright, contrasting colors and inspired by Giacomo Balla created meshes, overlapping chromatic structures reinventing both space and surface.
