Albert Merz is a Swiss contemporary abstract artist, who lives in Berlin now. He is known for his murals, graphics, sculptures and installations. Following the spirit of the times, Merz turned to the so-called wild painting in the 80s, because of his amorphous, expressive images. The artworks are combination of abstract and figurative images, inspired by archaism. The complexity of his artworks, as we can see in this graphic, is a result of the concatenation and stratification of symbols and objects. Using the abstract and geometric forms, Merz connects still life with animal world and figuration.
